Sorrow on display at Mobile Artwalk

Quacked Glass Studio is a small family run studio in Clatskanie, Oregon that works in almost all things glass. We primarily focus on stained glass (both Tiffany and traditional lead), fused glass, cast glass, and kiln-fired paint on glass. The studio is also dabbling in glass blowing and looking at setting up a permanent space for this.

In our off time, we work in other media. Sometimes those pieces will make their way to our store as well.

Now is the fun part… where did we come up with the name? Shortly after moving to Alabama, we started raising Silver Appleyard ducks. “Everything” changed after that. We built a house for our little "quackers” and it was dubbed the Quack House. When the studio was first opened we struggled to find a name, but upon analyzing what we did (cutting and sometimes cracking glass) we naturally settled on our current name.

As an artist, I keep trying to build on my skills. I was fortunate for the opportunity that I found at the University of South Alabama. In this area, they were the only ones offering programs in Glass Blowing and Kiln-formed Glass. I am thankful for everything that I have learned there and will continue to build on, in the future.
